Godley & Creme was a duo of English pop musicians and music video directors, Kevin Godley and Lol Creme.

The pair began releasing albums as a duo after splitting from pop band 10cc.

The third single from the album Deceptive Bends (1977). However, People In Love is less well received than its predecessors (The Things We Do For Love).

Joyce's sultry and smoky alto version of the 10cc tune from 1982 with soft drumming and soft, soulful percussion matching her soft and soulful voice.

10cc's original with edgy, hard drumming of Paul Burgess from 1977 not matching Eric's soft tenor.

Kevin Godley and Lol Creme first recorded together as a song writing duo in the 50's, but later teamed up to form 10cc along with Stewart and Gouldman. when 10cc split up in '76, Godley and Creme continued recording together as a duo throughout the '80s.

This Godley and Creme (from 10cc – they were a successful MOR band) video from 1985, Cry uses continuous film lap-dissolves with carefully registered eyes, to create an effect that was to become a digital motif called ‘Morphing’ from the early 1990s. Video effects just before the digital revolution of MPEG and MPEG2 in the 1990s used analogue techniques – in-camera effects, post production overprints and lap-dissolves – now wholly replaced by digital post.
